911 call in Lindsay Lohan arrest released

SANTA MONICA, Calif. (AP) — In the minutes before Lindsay Lohan's arrest, the mother of her former personal assistant called 911 and pleaded frantically for help because a mysterious car was following her — unaware that Lohan was behind the wheel, according to an audio copy released Thursday.

Lohan's personal assistant had quit hours before the event, according to police.

The woman apparently didn't realize that Lohan was in the white GMC following her when she contacted a Santa Monica police dispatcher shortly after 1:30 a.m. Tuesday while driving on Wilshire Boulevard.

"We were just about to park our car. We are turning home and out of nowhere a huge white GMC came up," the woman said to the dispatcher. The recording included unintelligible remarks apparently to the woman's passenger.

"We're being followed by a GMC ... the gentleman jumped out of the car," she added a few seconds later. "Oh my God, sir, they're following us. We need help."

During the nearly three-minute 911 call, the dispatcher repeatedly asked the woman where she is. The woman eventually said she was heading for the police station.

Police said the woman, accompanied by a passenger, drove her black Cadillac Escalade into the parking lot of Santa Monica's Civic Auditorium, about a block away from the Police Department, followed by Lohan driving a Yukon sport-utility vehicle.

"There he is, that white GMC pickup," the dispatcher said to someone as the car appeared.

During the call, the woman could be heard saying "Oh my God, what is he doing?" Near the end, hysterical but muffled yelling and screaming is heard.

"They're in front of HQ now. Roll somebody code. Ma'am, what's going on there? Hello? Hello? Ma'am? Hello?" the dispatcher said.

A few moments later, a police unit showed up and the woman could be heard in the background, apparently pointing out people to the officers.

"That's him, that's him right there," she said. "And him, stop them."

Authorities who arrived saw Lohan and the woman in what police have called a "heated debate." They also said two men were with Lohan in the car.

Lohan was arrested for investigation of misdemeanor driving under the influence and with a suspended license, and felony cocaine possession.

Hollywood actress Salma Hayek has been voted the hottest celebrity in the world by an Internet poll.

A total of 3,000 celebrities were ranked by E-Poll, in which a whopping 65 percent of the US population felt Hayek was super glamorous, World Entertainment News Network reported.

The 40-year-old actress elbowed out Jessica Alba, who took the second spot. Carmen Electra finished third.

Janet Gets Back To Work

How many comebacks is this? Janet Jackson is planning her latest “comeback.”

It seems like the plans for a tour, which were in the works, never materialized after Janet Jackson’s latest album, 20 Y.O, failed to make any traction.

Now, Janet’s moved on and is working on her latest project.

The singer is currently in our hometown of Miami working on on a new album.

Jackson is in South Beach with L.A. Reid for the next three months recording her new album at Circle House Studios.

The fact that Janet is working with Reid probably means she has signed to his label, Island Def Jam, of which L.A. is the chairman.

Jackson’s boyfriend, Jermaine Dupri told MTV.com in May that Janet was in talks with Island Def Jam and would be leaving her home of the past ten years plus, Virgin Records.

Hopefully L.A. will make sure the new album doesn’t suck as hard as 20 Y.O..

Chaos As Britney Stages Hotel Drive-By

HOLLYWOOD - Britney Spears caused chaos in Santa Monica, California, yesterday in what appeared to be a desperate attempt to get a little paparazzi attention.

Photographers camped outside celebrity hotspot the Casa Del Mar hotel, hoping for the chance to shoot Britney's onetime pop rival Mandy Moore--who was conducting press interviews inside--were stunned when the "Toxic" singer slowly drove by.

One bystander says, "It seemed obvious that Britney wanted to get noticed and photographed--why else would you show up at one of California's paparazzi hangouts.

"She drove really slowly and doubled back on herself to make sure that everyone who wanted to get a shot, got a shot."

But Britney's afternoon out turned ugly when her security guard, who was with her for the drive, had to fight off one snapper who got too close to his charge.

The onlooker says, "Britney had to make a run for it in the end. She and her bodyguard ended up hanging out by the hotel pool--in full view of everyone."

Lindsay Lohan Tops Maxim `Hot 100' List

Lindsay Lohan rules. According to Maxim magazine, at least this month, she's the hottest woman in the world.

The "Georgia Rule" actress-troublemaker tops the magazine's eighth annual "Hot 100" list, a ranking by editors weighing buzz and beauty for women in film, TV, music, sports and fashion.

"There is no other star in the world (who) causes more of a stir in the public eye than Lindsay," said Maxim Editor in Chief Jimmy Jellinek in a statement. "Her every move is watched and reported on."

Not surprisingly, Jellinek described his young, male readership as being "obsessed" with the 20-year-old Lohan, a ubiquitous party girl who spent the weekend soaking up the sun (with a new boyfriend) in the Bahamas.

Jessica Alba had to settle with the No. 2 on the list, which is in the magazine hitting stands Saturday. She's followed, in order, by Scarlett Johansson, Christina Aguilera, Jessica Biel, Ali Larter, Eva Mendes, Rihanna, Eva Longoria, Fergie, Sienna Miller, Angelina Jolie, Beyonce Knowles and Katherine Heigl.

Celebrity sisters Ashlee and Jessica Simpson are on the list at No. 16 and No. 41, respectively. Ashley Olsen, half of the mogul acting twins, placed 37th, while sister Mary-Kate didn't make the cut.
